Something Old, Something New

It’s a new year. I’ve done this several times before; restarting this site pretending I’m going to write in this blog. So, we’re continuing the tradition with this: a proper website. That will hopefully be properly updated over time. We’ll see. I’m setting out to make 2019 reinvestment in myself and the arts I like to create. I’ve pushed aside my real motivations for years in hopes of success, and while I’ve made great strides in my personal life, photography, music, writing have all been sidelined. This isn’t really a new year, new me, thing. But hopefully just a new me sort of thing, regardless of the timing.

I don’t want to force it all though. Sure, I have goals, but it’s not meant to be a hard and fast timeline of achievements. To poorly quote a photographer I respected a lot when I was learning, Joe McNally,

Of course, we’re striving for good in both categories. But even if this is the last post I ever make on this site, I’ll be happy enough knowing it sparked something new in me. The drive to once again create. On multiple fronts. Indefinitely.
